Barclays Bank PLC is the name of a shark in the banking industry
worldwide. With over 4,750 branches in about 50 countries, this bank is doing a
lot of business. One of the principal divisions of the bank is Barclaycard.
Being first introduced in 1966, this card was literally the stepping stone of
modern day credit cards.
The idea of keeping a card instead of cash initially rose to a
bewildering popularity in the 1900s. These cards gave a getaway to keeping hard
cash in your pocket all the time and thus making yourself prone to being mugged
in a dark alley. With bonus points on usage and other attractive offers, both
nationally and internationally, credit cards made to the top of people’s
preference list in no time. But is the scenario all the same at present? This
is probably the exact time demanding question to all of us.
After 50 years from introduction, a credit card is now a name of fear
and confusion. All the banks today have more inclination to sell a card rather
than providing client support. A banking giant like Barclays one of the worst
offenders, often charging horrendous interest rates that are not disclosed in
advance.
For years, people who with Barclaycard are complaining constantly about
the lack of customer support they are getting. It does not take much research
to find hundreds of complaints.
Complaints about Barclays Bank’s lack of customer service. Complaints
about Barclays Bank’s lack of caring about their customers. And complaints
about how Barclays Bank has ripped people off.
In fact, quite a few executives and Barclays Bank employees have been
put in prison for illegal activities.
Barclays Bank should be shut down.
Thousands of their clients are complaining that the rates of charges are
not fixed at all. Barclays Bank is just charging whatever rates they like. Barclays also has the same practice with late
fees. But that is not all. When clients are offered a check to pay off their
credit cards and they pay off, still they watch in wonder that they owe the
bank almost the same amount of money. Pretty ‘Ghostly’, right? After contacting
their support number answers came in that the clients must use their cards for
purchase. What in the world is that! This is my card and I get to decide what I
do with it. If only you could do that!
The situation doesn’t stop there also. The bonus points that the
advertisements said clients would get, one client complained clearly that he
was deprived of the opportunity. He redeemed $1110 in bonus from travel related
purchase but the bank just shut down his account instead of giving him the
facility. When the client contacted the authority, they could not present a
credible reason for this shut down. Just some vague statements having no clear
meaning at all.
Barclays Bank representatives Speak rudely with their customers, failing
to communicate correctly, break the promises they made before selling their
credit cards and having mysterious costs and charges.
Barclays Barclaycard product is probably the worst financial tool in the
market right now. They don’t care about their customers. What they only care is
earning money from it.
Don’t bank with Barclays. If you
have a Barclayscard Cancel it. This bank
is ripping people off every day.
